Instant-Shop can provide links from the product to other pages on the same site or anywhere else on the web. These pages can provide more information, technical specifications, or manufacturers home page etc. Instant-Shop supports up to 5 different links per product.
To add links click on the links tab within the product record.
Links Title
The text in the Links Title field is displayed at the top of the links section to introduce the section.
Link (URL)
The link fields are where the URL is entered. If you want to link to another page type in the full URL eg www.ambrit.co.uk. Tip: You do not need to enter the http:// this will be added automatically for you.
Link Name
The link name is the text that will be displayed instead of showing the actual URL eg 'More Information'. This will display the name 'More Information' in the links section. Clicking on 'More Information' link will take the customer to the related web page specified in the Link field.
Use Image
If the link names are consistant throughout your product range then a graphic can be used in place of the Link Name. This graphic has to be be supplied as part of your theme. Clicking on the graphic link will be the same as clicking on the URL.
Tip: If link 1 is 'More Information' and link 2 is 'Technical Specifications' and your product does not have more information but does have a technical specification then leave the first link blank and enter the URL for the technical specification into the 2nd link field.
New Window
If the 'New Window' checkbox is selected then clicking on the link will open the link in a new window.
Save Settings
Clicking 'Save Settings' will use the links for the current product as a template and will apply them to new products when they are created.
Removing Links
To remove link simply delete the text in the URL field.
